Early Voting & Absentee Ballot Info

EARLY VOTING

You can vote RIGHT NOW! Early voting is available from June 13-21. No crowds or waiting, lots of social distancing and health measures in place. If you are registered to vote, you can simply show up at the early voting location nearest you in your county (see below for locations). Protect yourself and our poll workers by casting your ballot today.

For Tompkins County voters:

  1. Tompkins County will send out applications to receive ballots in the mail. (You also can download an application to print and mail or return electronically.)

  2. Those who receive this application must fill out the form in order to receive their ballot in the mail.  

  3. When residents receive the application, they should check the box that says you want a ballot for the “June 23, 2020 Primary Election” and check the box that says “Temporary Illness or Disability”.

  4. Be sure to fill out the entire application, and sign and date the application. 

  5. Once the form is filled out, it can be sent to:

If you send in your ballot by mail, you do not have to go to the polling stations on June 23.  If you do not fill out a mail-in ballot, then you can still vote at the polls on or before June 23.  Voters now have nine extra days to vote prior to the Primary Election, at special Early Voting locations: 

  • Town of Ithaca Town Hall (215 N Tioga St - directions)

  • Crash Fire Rescue (CFR) (72 Brown Rd. - directions)

The Early Voting Locations will be open the following hours:

  • Saturday, June 13, 2020: 9am-2pm

  • Sunday, June 14, 2020: 9am-2pm

  • Monday, June 15, 2020: 7am-3pm

  • Tuesday, June 16, 2020: 12pm-8pm

  • Wednesday, June 17, 2020: 7am-3pm

  • Thursday, June 18, 2020: 12pm-8pm

  • Friday, June 19, 2020: 7am-3pm

  • Saturday, June 20, 2020: 9am-2pm

  • Sunday, June 21, 2020: 9am-2pm


Everyone who is registered to vote in New York State, a resident of Tompkins County, and enrolled in a party holding a primary, is eligible to vote at one of the two Early Voting sites.  For more details, visit https://tompkinscountyny.gov/boe.

For Cortland County voters:
