Monday evening Anna Kelles, Democratic candidate for New York’s 125th Assembly District, received the endorsement of Jumaane Williams, New York City Public Advocate and former candidate for Lieutenant Governor.

"I'm proud to endorse Anna Kelles for State Assembly. We need strong Progressives in Albany and that's exactly what Anna is. Her work in housing, as well as with Local Progress is respected around the state and she has the experience to be effective in the legislature on day one."

"I’ve had the privilege of organizing with Jumaane for years with groups like NYPAN and Local Progress” said Kelles. “Jumaane is a powerful and effective advocate for Racial Justice and Human Rights. We share a commitment to Activism, Immigrant Rights, and Housing Justice. It is an honor to have his endorsement.”

Kelles has also been endorsed by SEIU1199, the Working Families Party, Eleanor’s Legacy, The Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 267, The Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 3 and the The Tompkins-Cortland Building & Construction Trades Council. She also has the support of Actor and Progressive-Activist Cynthia Nixon, Tompkins County Legislator Leslyn McBean-Clairborne, Author Eliza VanCort,  climate expert Robert Howarth, former Tompkins County Legislature chair Barbara Mink, Dr. John-Paul Mead and many residents of Tompkins and Cortland counties.
